I’m 31 years old and I was perfectly healthy, exercised regularly, and physically active due to my line of work.

I got my first Moderna vaccine on Monday, the 11th of October 2021. I didn’t want to get it due to a history of reactions to childhood vaccines.

I had a sore arm and headache pretty soon after, but that’s a fairly normal reaction for me.

On Friday, that same week at about 5pm, I was on my way over to my boyfriend’s place when I started to get mild pain in the left side of my chest. Because it felt mild, I just tried to ignore it.

When I arrived at my boyfriend’s place, I greeted him, grabbed a can of cider, opened it, sat down and suddenly started to feel a massive wave of brain fog. I was struggling to see straight and felt like I was losing control of my body. I stood up, took two steps forward, and collapsed.

I was drifting in and out of consciousness. When I tried to speak, I felt like I was either slurring my words or couldn’t open my mouth. At this point my boyfriend called an ambulance.

When the paramedics arrived, they did an ECG and briefly said something about my heart skipping a beat. However, this reading wasn’t mentioned again once they noticed the opened can of cider on the table. They told my partner it was likely I had alcohol poisoning – except the opened can of cider had not even been touched. And I wasn’t vomiting.

At the hospital, I felt like I was treated like I was the scum of the earth! They did a few tests and said everything was fine before sending me on my way. Follow ups with the doctor also showed nothing except a report on my record saying I had alcohol poisoning. There was no mention of anything to do with my heart.

I had the second Moderna on the 11th of November. I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary, so it was life as usual until early December when I developed a blistering rash between my breasts. Initially, I thought it might have been heat rash but no matter what I did, nothing helped. The doctor gave me anti-fungal cream which didn’t help either.

On the 27th of December, I started getting intense period pains that brought me to tears. Then, out of nowhere, I passed a massive clot as well as two months worth of blood in less than a minute. About an hour later it happened again, so I went straight to the hospital. They ran a few blood tests and I was told it was just a bad period.

I went to the doctor a week later for a follow up. I was sent to get more blood tests and told to book in for an ultrasound.

Before I even made it to my ultrasound appointment I ended up in hospital again. I was experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath. I had a mild episode of these symptoms a couple of nights in a row, but I didn’t want to go to the hospital after the way I was treated during my initial hospital visit. However, when I started to get the pains during the day as well, and they were becoming more painful, I couldn’t ignore them any longer.

I had pain all down my left arm, shoulder, ribs and chest. Initially, they said my heart was skipping a beat (yet again..!). I told them about all the other issues I was experiencing, but was told it was just a coincidence. After a series of tests they said it appeared I was only having muscle cramps in my chest and I was sent home.

I have decided to just focus on getting the bleeding sorted for the moment. I went for my ultrasound which showed cysts on my ovaries, and a small mass in my uterus, something which is ongoing. I’ve never had anything like this in my life before.

After speaking with my sister, she has experienced the same type of bleeding.

My current status is:

  • Headaches most days
  • Brain fog a lot of the time
  • Bleeding most of the time
  • Occasional chest pain
  • Rash between breasts
  • Tired all the time
  • Wild mood swings and deep depression.
