Prior to the vaccine rollout, I was a fit and healthy 75-year-old. I am now almost 78. My only illness was diabetes which was managed very well with diet – no medication was needed. I am widowed, having lost my husband to cancer five years ago and my son to cancer three years ago. I cared for them both on my own through their long illnesses. I was always a fit and active person, doing everything for myself, and around the time I lost my husband, my doctor told me that I had the heart of a 25 year old.

I recently found out that I had two brothers and two sisters in Canada whom I have previously never met.  I was very keen to go to Canada to meet with them as I had searched for them for 40 years and the chance to meet them was going to be life changing. I realized however, that to travel I would need to be vaccinated so I arranged this with my GP.

I had two doses of AstraZeneca. The first on the 12th of May 2021 and the second on the 12th of August 2021. However, my doctor insisted that if I wanted to travel to Canada, I would also need two boosters. I had these (Pfizer) on the 16th of March and the 14th of June 2022 respectively.

I later found out, after having those boosters, that my travel to Canada only required two vaccines and that the two boosters, (which I had not wanted….), were not necessary.

Three weeks after the last booster, on the 6th of July, I suffered a mini stroke. I awoke that morning and was not sure whether I was really awake as I felt very strange. My son came in to check on me and discovered that I was unable to speak so he called triple zero. I was immediately transported to the Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane.

They diagnosed a very small blood clot and very low blood pressure. I started on medications (Elquis® for blood thinning and Metoprolol Sandoz® for my slow heart) to stabilize my blood pressure and reduce the clot. I was also told that my cholesterol was now too high, and I needed to take statins. I hate taking medications and have never taken them in the past, but I was told that if I did not take them from now on, I could die. I remained in hospital for three days before going home.

On the 20th of July I left to go to Canada where I stayed with family for four weeks. I had very little activity during this trip, staying in the family home and keeping up the medications. I was reasonably well throughout this trip.

After returning from Canada, I saw my doctor for a follow up appointment on the 14th of September. He advised me that the tests done in the hospital had shown that I had an aneurysm as well as a small blood clot. The doctor told me that I had a couple of choices. The first was that they could cut my head open and the second was that they could operate via a blood vessel in the groin. I declined any surgery as I was frightened that I could die on the table. The doctor told me that it was my choice.

I discussed with the doctor the possibility that the vaccines had caused my blood clot and aneurysm, but he refused to discuss this possibility and just shrugged it off.

In the meantime, I have developed three issues which all require minor surgery. But the doctors refuse to operate on me due to the aneurysm and what they say is ‘duty of care.’ The issues include:

  • A calcification on my left foot, which is now preventing me from walking. I am in a moon boot and have to use a wheel-chair as I can no longer put weight on that foot.
  • Cataracts
  • Carpel tunnel syndrome

Not being able to have these small surgeries has caused huge trauma in my life.

The drugs I am taking are designed to slow my heart down but they are also slowing me down terribly. At its peak, when I had the blood clot, my blood pressure was 186 but it is now down to about 130. Activities that I would have previously undertaken easily are no longer possible and my life has been irreversibly changed for the worse.

I am booked to go to Canada again on the 12th of August and the doctor has said that it is a risk but that it is my choice. Apparently, the risk of the aneurysm bursting is 0.9.

The doctor is now pushing me to have a fifth vaccine but I am determined not to do so.

In total, I was taken to hospital four times. The first time was when I had the mini stroke and blood clot and I was admitted for three days. I had two other visits which were only day stays when I had COVID and the flu. A further time I was admitted when I had a more severe dose of COVID. On that occasion, I was taken to a cystic fibrosis ward to be isolated. I don’t know whether that was an issue with lack of beds or if it was an isolation issue.

All in all, I am convinced that my previous good health was adversely affected by the vaccines. My GP will not acknowledge that, and the hospital staff avoid answering the question. Some may assume that my age is a factor in the deterioration of my health. But I know in myself that I was uncommonly fit and healthy, living a full and active life right up to the time I had those vaccinations.

I wish to tell my story to support others who have also been forced to have vaccines that they did not want and who have since suffered multiple ill effects.
